Barcelona will be the starting point of the 113th edition of the Tour de France, in what will be the third departure in the history of the Grande Boucle from Spain after those held in San Sebastian (1992) and Bilbao (2023).
The Catalan capital was already present in the routes of the editions of 1957, 1965 and 2009, and maintains a very close relationship with cycling whose main stage has been the ‘magic mountain’ of Montjuïc. In it have been played stages of La Vuelta, the Volta a Catalunya… and other top-level events such as the World Championships or the Olympic Games.
Montjuïc, axis of the 1992 Games, will be very present at the Grand Départ in Barcelona by hosting the arrivals of the first two days, scheduled for 4 and 5 July 2026: a time trial by teams of 19,7 kilometers and a line stage of 178 kilometers that will be resolved in an intense final circuit with finish in front of the Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium. Two appointments intended to stage the first battles between the great favorites of the yellow jersey.
